Jason is a professional woodwind player, accomplished composer and educator who brings a wealth of experience and helps students to reach their full potential. He has been at the forefront of the music industry for the last three decades, touring the world with the historical elite.
HIS PLAYING CREDITS INCLUDE - Frank Sinatra, Shirley Bassey, James Taylor, Gloria Estefan, Cher, Cat Stevens,The Troggs, 1927, Matt Finish, and The Masters Apprentices. Most recently he has been working with Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Ian Moss (Cold Chisel), Craig Calhoun (Temptations), as well as many local acts.

Jason Thornton is primarily a saxophonist but plays the following;

Micaela is a professional orchestral and concert performer, music educator, examiner for the
Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB), composer, and registered Music Therapist. After
attending the Sydney Conservatorium high school, she gained her Bmus with high distinction, and
her Masters (music therapy) and PhD at Melbourne and Sydney Universites respectively. Her
innovative research addressed the sociological foundations of Performance Dysfunction in music
students and career musicians.
Micaela has worked regularly with the major Australian symphony, opera, and ballet orchestras, and
held principal positions with many music theatre productions in Australia and overseas. Her career
includes a full-time position with the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra.
Micaela's involvement in music education spans 40 years within the school and tertiary systems,
including lecturer in woodwinds and piano at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium, the University
of NSW, and UTS Sydney. As an AMEB examiner, she has expert knowledge of the woodwind and
piano syllabus, and progression through AMEB examinations, undergraduate, and postgraduate
university requirements to professional level.
Micaela has produced five CDs of original compositions, presented papers at Australian Music
Therapist Association conferences, and published for the International Journal of the Association for
Music and Imagery.
Micaela enjoys teaching all age groups – primary and secondary school students through to retirees,
and has a specialist interest and qualifications in teaching students with special needs, including
Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
