Ethan Powell

Associate concertmaster of the Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonic 2020, Ethan Powell has been playing the violin since age six. His musical achievements include performing Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’ as a featured instrumentalist in a 2019 Penrith City Choir concert, being a member of the orchestra for the 2019 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Sydney, and going on the 2019 Sydney Youth Orchestra international tour to the UK.

He is currently learning from Goetz Richter, head of strings at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and former concertmaster of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He has been learning pieces of up to LMus level, having recently performed the first movement of Bruch’s violin concerto number 1 for his HSC 2 years ago. Ethan is actively working towards a career in classical music performance, and now attends Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
