About the Tutor:
Sharon Williams
Sharon Williams holds a doctorate in music, focused on experimental composition and collaborative drumming. She is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and music educator, with a passion for West African drumming. Sharon has studied in West Africa, Europe, Asia, and the U.S. with renowned world percussion masters including Famoudou Konaté, Arthur Hull, Glen Velez, Layne Redmond, Lori Cotler, and Reinhard Flatischler.
Sharon teaches West African drumming and drumming improvisation to music students at Western Sydney University. Her innovative teaching methods, grounded in traditional techniques and enhanced by her extensive experience, create a dynamic and enriching learning environment for her students.
