Group Singing (10-13 yrs)

Thursdays 4:30pm

Begin your singing journey in this fun group class with our expert and qualified teachers. Students will learn to utilise their voices properly, as well as be introduced to a variety of styles suitable for children, including children’s songs, musical theatre and other popular favourites suitable for their learning.

A great forerunner to private singing lessons, students here will also learn general music foundations: theory, aural, rhythm, and general music skills.

What’s covered:

  • Introduction to breath support
  • Physiological awareness of voice and body
  • Introduction to vocal technique – legato, staccato, dynamics control
  • Learn performance skills
  • Exposure to various genres and styles
  • Ensemble vs solo skills

About the Tutor

Michelle Foreman

Michelle graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Her experience as a professional opera singer in Australia, the UK and the USA, have informed her approach in preparing others to pursue their musical dreams. She has been teaching for 20 years. Michelle balances discipline and technical clarity with laughter and prioritises vocal health for her students.

Michelle tailors lessons individually to suit the goals of each student. Michelle’s students have been cast with Opera Australia productions, been employed for performances on cruise ships, for recording studio sessions and have appeared on television’s The Voice.
